Fractions Addition: Common Denominator

The most important thing to remember when adding two fractions is that the denominator of each fraction must be the same. In other words, each fraction has a common denominator.

We can add 1/4 + 2/4. However, before we add 2/5 + 3/10, we must rewrite 2/5 as 4/10.
